Our latest Star Of The Mont is a dynamic young artiste, who got her start in showbiz in 1986, starring in Mattapu under the direction of Kumar Thangaiyah.
Introducing Sangeeta Krishnasamy. She’s a model, actress, TV host, and a lawyer by education. Upon completing her Law studies in the University of London, she worked as an education consultant in President’s College Malaysia.
Despite her professional career, Sangeeta refused to let go of her passion for acting. Instead, she chose to fuel it by signing up for a formal acting workshop hosted by performing arts maestros Datuk Faridah Merican and Joe Hasham at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre.
In 2009, she was called for an audition, and her acting career has been on the rise ever since. To date, she has worked on 11 movies, including 2 Kollywood ones: Goa and Zha. Locally, she’s most remembered for her lead roles in Vennira Iravuggal and Vetti Passaangga.

Recently, Sangeeta walked away with a well-deserved Best Actress title at the Malaysia Film Festival title for her portrayal of Cheryl in Adiwiraku. The film is based on a true story, which centres on a teacher, Cheryl Ann Fernando, and her experience at SMK Pinang Tunggal Kedah.
According to Star2, Sangeeta is also expanding her skill outside of acting. She has applied to the New York Film Academy, where she wants to learn scriptwriting and to hopefully, one day, be a director.
Additionally, the actress is also in the midst of opening a café at her condominium building. It’s her way to foster a sense of community with the people she shares a postcode with. The café will offer a variety of food, including vegan cakes prepared by Sangeeta, who has been a vegan for four years. And get this, she’s into woodworking too. The desire to learn as much as possible is something she inherited from her late father, whom she described as her best friend.
We wish her all the best in her future undertakings.
